Lalu Prasad Yadav posted on X that his eldest son Tej Pratap’s behavior goes against family values, and as a result, he is being removed from both the party and the family.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Prasad Yadav has expelled his eldest son, Tej Pratap Yadav, from the party for six years and also disowned him from the family. The decision follows a controversial Facebook post by Tej Pratap featuring a woman named Anushka Yadav, in which he claimed they had been in a relationship for 12 years.
Lalu Yadav’s Statement
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Lalu Prasad Yadav wrote in Hindi:
“Ignoring moral values in personal life weakens our collective struggle for social justice. The actions, public conduct, and irresponsible behavior of my eldest son go against our family values and traditions. Therefore, I am removing him from both the party and the family. From now on, he will have no role whatsoever in either.”
He further added, “Tej Pratap is capable of making decisions in his personal life. Those who associate with him should act accordingly. I have always supported public accountability in public life, a value that has been embraced by the obedient members of my family.”
Tej Pratap Yadav’s Response
Following the viral post, the former Bihar minister claimed on Saturday that his official Facebook account had been hacked. In a statement on X, the 37-year-old denied the allegations and accused unknown individuals of editing and sharing his photos without permission to defame him and his family.
“My social media platforms have been hacked, and my photos are being edited to defame and harass me and my family. I urge my followers to stay alert and ignore such rumors,” he wrote.
However, users on social media were quick to point out that Tej Pratap is already married to Aishwarya Rai, granddaughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Daroga Rai. The couple married in 2018 but separated within months amid reports of marital discord.
