Telangana CM Revanth Reddy alleges PM Modi halted military action against Pakistan under U.S. pressure, calling BJP’s patriotic rallies a cover-up for weakness.
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, accusing them of backing out of military action against Pakistan due to pressure from former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Addressing the public during the “Jai Hind Yatra” in Hyderabad, Revanth alleged that Prime Minister Modi, after initially mobilizing support for a strong response to terrorism following the Pahalgam attack, suddenly announced a ceasefire — not in national interest, but under external pressure.
“If Modi was going to withdraw the operation fearing Trump’s threats, then what moral authority does the BJP have to hold Tiranga rallies across the country?” Revanth asked.
He pointed out that while the government had called an all-party meeting before launching its response, the decision to call off the military action was taken without consulting the opposition.
🛑 Congress CM Questions Modi’s Courage and BJP’s Intentions
Revanth Reddy accused the BJP of using patriotic displays like Tiranga rallies to distract the public from what he termed a “strategic retreat.” He stated that India had an opportunity to send a strong message to Pakistan and the international community, but instead, the Prime Minister chose to step back under pressure.
“At a time when the whole nation was united, including the Congress, the Prime Minister lost his nerve. Is this how you fight terrorism?” Revanth said.
He also invoked a Telugu proverb, comparing Modi’s action to a wise man warned who ends up eating dirt and losing his teeth — implying that Modi succumbed to fear rather than acting with strength.
🇮🇳 Revanth Compares Modi to Indira Gandhi
The Chief Minister drew a contrast between Modi’s actions and those of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who stood firm against global powers in 1971 and led India to victory in the Bangladesh Liberation War.
“Indira Gandhi didn’t fear world leaders. She took bold decisions. Modi should learn from that legacy,” he remarked.

Revanth’s allegations have sparked questions about whether the Modi government acted in the best interests of national security or prioritized international diplomacy over India’s fight against cross-border terrorism.
He concluded by warning that using patriotism for political gain while compromising on national security could damage India’s global credibility.
