Pakistani Intruder Shot Dead by BSF in Gujarat After Ignoring Warnings. India vs Pakistan Tensions Escalate Amid Ongoing Security Operations
A Pakistani national attempting to cross into Indian territory was shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel near the India-Pakistan International Border in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district late Thursday night.
According to an official BSF statement, the intruder was observed approaching the border fence after illegally crossing the International Border. Despite multiple warnings, the individual continued to advance, prompting BSF troops to open fire and neutralize him on the spot.
“Alert BSF troops successfully neutralized a Pakistani intruder attempting to enter Indian territory in Banaskantha district on the night of May 23, 2025. The individual ignored repeated verbal warnings and continued moving toward the border fence,” the statement read.
The incident comes amid heightened security along the India-Pakistan border following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam and subsequent military escalation. In retaliation, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure across the border.
PM Modi Hails Operation Sindoor
On May 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the operation during a speech in Bikaner, Rajasthan. He claimed that Indian forces destroyed nine major terror camps in Pakistan within just 22 minutes, signaling a decisive response to cross-border terrorism.
Modi issued a stern warning to Pakistan, declaring that no Indian water would be allowed to flow into the neighboring country and asserting that continued terror activities would face severe retaliation. Reaffirming India’s zero-tolerance stance, he emphasized that future dialogue with Pakistan would only concern the status of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.
