The much-anticipated collaboration between Jr NTR and director Prashanth Neel is all set to undergo a major change — starting with the title. Originally rumoured to be named “Dragon”, the film will now be rebranded due to legal complications tied to the title’s prior use.

Why the Change?
According to a report by Pinkvilla, the title “Dragon” is already registered for a Tamil film that was released earlier this year and also dubbed in Telugu. This pre-existing registration has tied the hands of Jr NTR’s production team, preventing them from officially locking in the name.
A source close to the production shared, “The issue stems from the fact that Dragon is already a registered title with a 2025-released Tamil film. Since that version was also dubbed in Telugu, the team doesn’t want to risk fan confusion or legal hurdles, especially in the Telugu-speaking market.”
As a result, the filmmakers have begun an active search for a new title, aiming to find one that fits the film’s epic scale while steering clear of copyright conflicts.
What We Know So Far
Helmed by Prashanth Neel (known for KGF and Salaar), the upcoming movie promises to be a grand cinematic experience. Backed by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Hombale Films, the project has already ignited massive buzz online.
While details are still under wraps, Neel revealed in a past interview that the film is a period drama centered around immigrants, with Jr NTR portraying a heroic figure who helps people trapped in Bangladesh. “The film has no mythological elements but is an epic in its own way,” the director shared, further raising expectations among fans.
Launch and Production Update
The film was officially launched on August 9, 2024, with a pooja ceremony attended by Jr NTR, his family, and core crew members. Although the rest of the cast remains unannounced, the combination of Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel is enough to keep the excitement soaring.
Meanwhile, in Bollywood…
Jr NTR is also gearing up for his big Bollywood debut in War 2, where he stars opposite Hrithik Roshan. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the spy thriller features Jr NTR as the antagonist and is set to hit theatres on August 14, 2025. Kiara Advani will play the female lead in the high-octane action drama.
With a major title reveal just around the corner and two massive projects in the pipeline, Jr NTR fans are in for an action-packed cinematic year ahead.
