New Delhi, 13 June 2025 — In a major development for postgraduate medical aspirants, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has expanded the list of exam cities for NEET PG 2025 to 233, significantly enhancing accessibility across India. The announcement was made through an official notice on NBEMS’s website natboard.edu.in, and it comes in response to a Supreme Court directive aimed at ensuring a uniform and fair examination process.

Previously scheduled for an earlier date, the NEET PG 2025 examination will now be held on August 3, 2025, in a single shift nationwide, as per the revised schedule. To implement this change effectively, NBEMS has restructured its examination logistics, including an increase in test centers and the launch of a fresh round of city preference submissions for candidates.

✅ Why NBEMS Revised the Exam City List

The revised list of exam cities and the new exam date are part of NBEMS’s compliance with the Supreme Court of India’s directive mandating that NEET PG 2025 be conducted in a single session to maintain uniformity across the country. Recognizing the logistical challenges of conducting a single-shift national-level medical entrance exam, NBEMS requested additional time to expand its test center network and finalize the necessary arrangements.

The number of cities has now been increased to 233, with a focus on:

  • Reducing overcrowding at centers
  • Minimizing long-distance travel for candidates
  • Ensuring equitable access to exam centers in remote and underserved areas
  • Strengthening administrative control during the exam

This expansion is expected to enhance convenience and fairness, offering candidates a smoother and more accessible testing experience.

🕒 Important Dates and Instructions for Candidates

As per the latest notification from NBEMS, all NEET PG 2025 candidates must resubmit their exam city preferences within the specified timeframe:

  • Start Date: June 13, 2025 (from 3:00 PM)
  • End Date: June 17, 2025 (until 11:55 PM)

The board has made it clear that exam city allotments will be done on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on candidate preferences and availability. Candidates are strongly advised to act early to improve their chances of securing their preferred test city.

📝 Steps to Submit or Modify Exam City Preferences

  1. Visit the NBEMS official website: natboard.edu.in
  2. Log in using your NEET PG 2025 application ID and password
  3. Click on the “Exam City Selection” link on your dashboard
  4. Review the updated list of 233 cities
  5. Rank your preferred cities in order of choice
  6. Submit your preferences before the deadline
  7. Save a screenshot or copy of the confirmation for future reference

Candidates should regularly check the official NBEMS website for updates and any further announcements related to the examination.

📍 How to View the Revised Exam City List

The updated exam city list can be accessed by:

  • Visiting the NEET PG 2025 section on the NBEMS website
  • Clicking on the latest public notice regarding the revised exam cities
  • Downloading the attached PDF containing the complete list of 233 cities

🗣️ NBEMS Ensures Accessibility and Transparency

A senior official from NBEMS stated that the expanded city list reflects the board’s continued commitment to transparency, fairness, and candidate convenience. By increasing the test center network, NBEMS aims to reduce exam-day stress, prevent overcrowding, and streamline coordination for the single-session format.

The board also reiterated that candidates will not be allowed to request changes after the final submission, and city allocation is strictly based on the priority chosen and availability at the time of submission.

📌 What’s Next?

With NEET PG 2025 just weeks away, candidates should begin reviewing the list of exam cities and prepare to submit their preferences as soon as the window opens. The shift to a single-day format signals a stronger push toward standardized, accessible, and streamlined national medical entrance tests, and NBEMS is leading the way with strategic reforms.
