New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to meet members of India’s all-party diplomatic delegations next week, in a crucial debrief following their global outreach under Operation Sindoor, a post-Pahalgam terror response initiative. The high-level meeting is likely scheduled for June 9 or 10 in Delhi, according to top government sources.

Summary:

  • Strong Global Response to India’s Diplomacy
  • What Comes Next?

The delegations, formed to engage with international stakeholders and consolidate global support for India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism, have completed visits to over 33 countries. They are now preparing to present their findings, key discussions, and foreign policy takeaways directly to the Prime Minister.

Each of the seven multi-party delegations included Members of Parliament from both the ruling NDA and Opposition, along with senior political figures and ex-diplomats. Leaders of the delegations include:

  • Shashi Tharoor (Congress)
  • Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP)
  • Sanjay Kumar Jha (JDU)
  • Baijayant Jay Panda (BJP)
  • Kanimozhi Karunanidhi (DMK)
  • Supriya Sule (NCP)
  • Shrikant Shinde (Shiv Sena)

The initiative was part of India’s diplomatic push following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, and the subsequent Operation Sindoor, a major counter-offensive that targeted multiple terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Strong Global Response to India’s Diplomacy

India’s campaign received vocal support from several key nations. Saudi Arabia expressed unambiguous backing for India’s counter-terrorism efforts, with a strong statement from its Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir, during a delegation visit.

Italy proposed deeper counter-terror collaboration, while Indonesia pledged to support India’s stance at multilateral platforms. France and South Africa also endorsed India’s robust anti-terror posture.

In Riyadh, the Indian delegation underscored New Delhi’s new security doctrine—rooted in “zero tolerance” and a “new normal” in response to terror threats. The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia shared the interaction on X (formerly Twitter), stating the visit strengthened strategic trust.

Baijayant Jay Panda, who led the team to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria, described the outreach as “constructive and future-focused.” His delegation is set to return to India from Algeria on June 3 at 8:30 AM.

What Comes Next?

The debriefing with PM Modi is expected to influence India’s ongoing diplomatic positioning on counter-terrorism. The insights shared by these teams could play a pivotal role in shaping future security, foreign policy, and multilateral engagement strategies.
